Assistant Manager

We are seeking an Assistant Manager for our store located at 39 Ontario Street North in Grand Bend.

The Tim Horton’s Assistant Manager is responsible and accountable for the execution and delivery of all operational performance objectives resulting in guest satisfaction.

Operational Management

  • Ordering supplies and overseeing building maintenance, cleanliness and security
  • Accountable for production of Always Fresh standards and waste levels
  • Conducting weekly inventories to ensure that targets are achieved and maintained

Financial Management

  • Plans and works to budget, maximizes profits and achieves sales and transaction targets, controls Food/Paper/Labour costs in the restaurant
  • Ensure daily deposits are completed and any overages or shortages are investigated

People Management

  • Accountable for recruiting new Team members, performance management, including training and development new and existing Team Members, and motivating and encouraging team to achieve targets
  • Build the restaurant’s “bench strength” by identifying and developing high potential employees for progression to the next level
  • Ensure schedules are properly forecasted in relation to sales and regulated on a daily basis
  • Set goals and objectives for team
  • Ensure “open door” policy for all Team Members
  • Possess excellent communications Skills; ensure ongoing day to day communications with all shifts through communication log or other means
  • Provide open communication with General Manager and Restaurant Owner
  • Responsible for restaurant compliance with all applicable legislation
  • Ensure that the high standards of guest experience are maintained and demonstrated as a top priority
  • Implement and instill company policies, procedures, and ethics in the Team
  • Handle guest complaints and queries with professionalism and concern
  • Prepare reports and other analysis documentation
  • Establish relationships with local community and undertake activities which comply with the company’s corporate social responsibility programs
  • Establish proper security procedures and ensure the reduction of Team member theft and the safety of Team members and guests
  • Provide leadership and direction around waste management procedures

Health and Safety

  • Is familiar with and works in compliance with occupational health and safety legislation
  • Know understand and follow safe work practices and procedures
  • Ensure restaurant has a health and safety program in place
  • Take responsibility to ensure that Team Members are made aware of any hazards and that proper training is completed and documented
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections
  • Respond to and correct unsafe acts and conditions
  • Report work-related injuries to the appropriate internal and external authorities
  • Perform accident investigations for all work-related injuries and illnesses
  • Enforce employee compliance in regard to restaurant’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Initiate performance counselling and take disciplinary action for non-compliance in matters related to health and safety
  • Keep the restaurant Owner apprised as to any conditions or practices that may pose a hazard to employees
  • Make recommendations for improvement to the restaurant’s health and safety practices and program
